When paint attacks and makes people happy, it’s art. Paint Splat Fun is a paint party with one guest at the center of it: a laughing woman in a bright swimsuit, arms up, while buckets and balloons of vivid color come at her from off frame. The paint is caught at the instant it lands, so every image holds a burst still hanging in the air, a stripe running down an arm, and a face that is delighted rather than startled. Photoreal skin and fabric under surreal, weightless color. The set runs wide across age and skin tone on purpose, because the joke lands the same for everyone.
