This is my magazine-cover series for the women, and it started with a simple question – what would she look like on a newsstand? So I built the whole cover: a bold condensed masthead across the top, its lower edge tucked behind hair and shoulders so the model sits in front of the type the way a real cover works, the month and year set small on the right, a barcode down in the corner. Everything else is fashion photography – shallow depth of field, high-end editorial light, and a woman who knows exactly where the camera is.
