This is the gallery where I let myself use one color and commit to it completely. Every angel here is gold – gold feathered wings big enough to fill the frame, gold at the halo, ornate gilded breastplates over pleated gold-trimmed gowns, gold bracers, gold sabatons, and weapons that look like they were poured rather than forged. Some are commanding a battlefield with the weapon already up and the smoke going gold around them. Some stand in a throne room of gold columns with the light doing all the work. Some are simply turned three-quarter to the camera, letting the halo carve the face out of the dark. Warm, heavy, deliberately excessive, and it prints beautifully.
