Male Warriors of the sea, and the sea is not calm. The newest work leads the gallery: heavy-shouldered mermen holding ornate tridents of gold, black iron and red coral, lit by lightning breaking over open water or by shafts of light falling through deep blue. The tails are scaled and iridescent – blue-teal, near-black, one banded in dark red – and they catch whatever light reaches them. Behind that sits the original collection, leaner and brighter: a young hunter poised underwater with a gold trident, sunlight breaking on the surface above him, and a dark-haired swimmer wading out of the surf with spray still coming off his shoulders. The men run from lean to powerfully built, across a wide range of ages and skin tones. Created by Jeff Dupler, using the latest in AI technology.
