The dwarves of Norse myth lived under the mountain, and this is my collection of the women of those kingdoms. Each frame is a different dwarf woman with braided red, auburn or dark hair, in riveted plate, mail and leather worked with knotwork. Some frames are about scale – a lone dwarf woman on a stone stair above a golden city carved inside a cavern, lanterns glowing along gilded towers and domes far below. Others are about the work and the fight – the forge, the war hammer and the great gate held against the dark. Epic, gold and firelight against dark stone.
