Enveloped by Color puts a man inside the color rather than in front of it. Dense clouds of pigment boil up around the head and shoulders against a black ground – turquoise, cobalt, magenta, burnt orange – and in most frames the color has already landed on him: skin dusted deep blue and flecked with gold, a shoulder half lost in the cloud, a face the only thing the smoke has not swallowed. The men are shirtless and shot close, and the range is deliberate across age as well as skin tone – young men and weathered older ones both. A scatter of butterflies drifts in the field with them. The mood is calm rather than dramatic, and most of them are smiling. Created by Jeff Dupler, AI assisted with Flux Pro or MidJourney, and Photoshop if needed.
