Life Beyond Earth is the science fiction side of the fantasy collection: everyday life off planet, on the moon, on Mars and in the ships and suits that get people there.

It is the album to open when you want a future that feels lived in, with crews at work and at the table rather than only ships in empty space.

What is inside

Three galleries, 1,089 images in all.

• Spacecraft and Spacesuits: orbital craft, lunar landers, ring stations and crews suited up for launch, 413 images.
• Moon Base: white domes on gray dust under a black sky with a small Earth overhead, 345 images.
• Mars Base: domes on the rust red plain, lava tube cities, rover convoys and dust storms, 331 images.

The galleries follow one journey. Spacecraft and Spacesuits is how people get there, Moon Base is the first step, and Mars Base is the colony that comes after.

Every gallery keeps people in the picture: crews working outside the domes, sharing meals, growing food and watching launches, so the album reads as a story about living there.
